The Shining

Oct 29, 2022

So many players had their foot halfway in the door last season on the defensive side of the ball for the Garden State Herd. So many to choose from but today we must tip the cap to cornerback Chad Elliot Jr (@chadjuniorfit_ ).

Elliot led the team with 4 INT’s last season, he would’ve had 5 but his 5th was called back due to a penalty, he found out 83 yards down the field that what would’ve been the longest play in Herd History was void.

Matching up against some of the leagues best, Elliot never backed down, playing with a deeply bruised shoulder week by week. Being determined to succeed he played each game with know-how and veteran intelligence.

Elliot comes from good stock having played at Hackensack High School for the Comets (@hackensackathletics ) racking up 49 tackles, four interceptions and three forced fumbles as a senior defensive back before taking his talents to the collegiate level on the west coast at Mt. San Jacinto College (@msjcedu @msjcathletics ) in California.

After suffering an injury Elliot later transferred back on the east coast and enrolled at William Paterson University (@wpunj @williampatersonfb ).

Defensive backs coach Josh Belle (@dbcoach_ya_herd ) I am sure is very happy to Have Elliot back in the lineup, also returning is stand out corner Alexander Recumba (@_ayecito ) who had 3 INT’s during the regular season with one in preseason to boot also.

All in all, it should be a great time in #Herdcountry
